2020 was the first year trying out UMS Massive Forage Oats for Muttama local, Darren Crawford. After seeing this late-maturing oat variety at a local field day, Darren took a punt and sowed it in early April at 60kg/ha. 🌿
Since then 100kg of MAP and 110kg of Urea have been applied, and in 2-3 weeks it’ll get made into hay. Darren says, “Early on I was really impressed with how dark green it was. The paddocks we planted with the Massive just stood out a mile away”.
Darren was “pleasantly surprised” and says, “It’ll definitely be the only oat I’ll grow in the future!”
